The Skydeck

The Skydeck at Del Mar Highlands is a dynamic new food hall in northern San Diego County. Inspired by the local coastal environment the space evokes a nautical narrative with handcrafted graphics and carefully curated custom-made or vintage found objects. RSM Design worked with developer, Donahue Schriber, and architect, Retail Design Collaborative, on unexpected signage and specialty placemaking elements.

Maritime Messages

The graphics focused on unique repurposed materials that emphasized authenticity and weathering. Integrated custom painted murals incorporate playful nautical notes and cartography symbols. RSM Design also developed the identity and signage for the Brewers Deck, an outdoor craft beer patio with panoramic views of the area.
