NCTD is a public agency that manages all the train, bus and light rail stations in North San Diego county. RSM Design worked with NCTD through a four-step process. We first analyzed the existing signage design and surveyed users’ needs. We then integrated the existing NCTD brand vocabulary into an entirely reimagined wayfinding design system, better linking services and critical last mile connections for commuters. After a design direction was selected, our team developed a comprehensive set of sign standards with detailed sign drawings, specifications and technical sections for each of the sign types.
